Announcing our inaugural Composer Fellowship for 2017-18!
With generous funding from the Harvard Musical Association's George Henschel Community Award, we are pleased to offer three fellowships with a stipend of $1000 each to composers, aged 18-30 and residing in the Greater Boston Area!† Fellows will collaborate with Transient Canvas on a new work for the 2017-18 concert season with three guaranteed performances, the first in Spring 2018. Fellows will work directly with Transient Canvas in rehearsals and workshops throughout the concert season and will receive audio and video recordings of performances of their works.
To apply, please fill out the form below. Applications are due July 15, 2017 and winners will be notified on August 15, 2017.
Applications will be reviewed by an independent panel of composers and performers. All scores, recordings, and proposals must be kept anonymous. Please note that you do NOT need to compose a new work for us in order to apply. Links to two scores for any instrumentation, a representation of your current body of work, are required. Proposals should describe your music in general, plus ideas on a new work for Transient Canvas. If accepted into the fellowship, you will collaborate on this new work for bass clarinet and marimba (plus electronics if desired) for a performance in Spring 2018.
If you have any questions regarding this fellowship or the application, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
